Deploying Appgate SDP requires only two things to connect: a Client and a profile link. Users have a wide variety of Clients to choose from that represent a range of operating systems.
Client profiles include a profile name plus the minimum set of information required for a Client to connect to the Appgate SDP Controller.
Shortcuts in Appgate SDP allow users to access resources without having to know or bookmark that resource’s URL or URI. Appgate SDP Clients include multi-page views of app shortcuts, and users can pin their favorite app shortcuts to the first page.
Once a Client is in use, Appgate SDP's Device Policies can be used to manage aspects of the Client and device. Device Policies provide additional functionality which can be used to improve security posture without the need to install other third-party tools.
These controls cover a wide range of options, including ringfencing, applying a PAC file, suspending when working on a trusted network, and preventing tampering with settings by overwriting any changes.
From the Device Policy Editor, you can also customize the Client UI, use Client Help Link to direct users to an internal help resource, and centrally manage the distribution and updating of Client profiles.
