These are specified to be both affordable (for customers that require 'firewall' type services to be appliance based) and to deliver high performance (for customers whose virtualized environments can not support the CPU loads or throughput requirements of a heavily loaded system). ## Specifications | Parameter | Ax-M2 | Ax-G7 | Ax-H5 | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Primary and Secondary usage | Connector Gateway / LogForwarder (only one at a time) | Gateway / Controller Connector / LogForwarder / LogServer | Controller / Portal / Gateway LogServer | | Concurrent Users (GW): | 100-250 maximum per unit * | 2000-4000 maximum per unit * | 4000-8000 maximum per unit * | | Throughput: | 0.85Gb/s maximum | 23Gb/s maximum | 23Gb/s maximum | | Memory: | 8GB | 16GB | 64GB | | CPU(s): x | 1x Intel® Pentium® J6426 2.0Ghz, 4C | 1x Intel® Xeon® E-2488 3.2GHz, 8C/16T | 1 x Intel® Xeon® Gold 6526Y 2.8GHz, 16C/32T | | Disk(s): | 1x SSD SATA 128GB | 2x SSD SATA 6G 480GB RAID1 | 2x SSD SATA 6G 480GB Cached RAID1 | | Network: x | 4x 1Gb RJ45 Ethernet | 2x 1Gb RJ45, 2x 10/25Gb SFP28 Ethernet (SFP+ supported) ^ | 2x 1Gb RJ45 & 4x 10/25Gb SFP28 Ethernet (SFP+ supported) ^ | | Power Supply Unit: | Single external | Dual 700W redundant hot pluggable | Dual 700W redundant hot pluggable | | Management: | n/a | iDRAC9, Enterprise 16G | iDRAC9, Enterprise 16G | x Due to component shortages the exact specification may vary from that shown here. * Number of users will depend on the number of users and complexity of . Memory relates to the number of users and the complexity of any associated Conditions. CPU relates to their activity (network) and the frequency of any changes in Conditions. > [!NOTE] > NOTE > > Individual users should be able to achieve speeds up to the typical 1GbE interface of a user's device. ^ The Ax-G and Ax-H appliances use Intel® E810-XXV network adapters with two or four 10/25Gb SFP28 ports. To use these, SFP28 connector modules needs to be added. SFP+ connector modules will also work, but are limited to 10Gb. **These connector modules are not included as they are usually part of the cable assembly. These are standard networking components that need to be purchased locally to suit your switches. Appgate does not sell or supply these items.** For details see: [25Gb Intel data sheet](https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/184820/intel-ethernet-network-adapter-e810xxvda4-for-ocp-3-0.html). ### Rear views The exact appearance of the rear view may vary - below is a typical layout. The numbers shown relate to the interface numbers that will be used in [Appliances>System Settings](/v1/docs/system-settings). So 1 will appear as eth1 in the admin UI. ![Diagram showing PSU connections with labeled numbers and positions for configuration.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/e7482ce5-acfa-4c3b-b76c-b6c32472644a/Images/Documentation/hw_nics.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T21%3A53%3A36Z&se=2026-10-26T22%3A53%3A36Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=7Nv%2FORPy9eoKcrGo50djCQVXPY%2Bch5WTH9xgvpxn0aY%3D) The virtual or physical instance on which the system is running. Each appliance is a stateless, configurable machine that can operate as a single function or a combination of functions. Appgate SDP (Software Defined Perimeter) is a security solution that provides secure access to resources based on user identity and context, leveraging a zero trust security model. A component that extends connectivity to remote sites and unmanaged resources without requiring the use of a standalone Client. An appliance that acts as an enforcement point, controlling user access to protected resources. The Controller is the central management appliance in the Appgate ZTNA system, responsible for user authentication, policy distribution, and overall system administration. A web-based interface that allows users to access resources without requiring a standalone Client. It serves as a reverse proxy for user traffic.
