It is designed for users such as third parties who may not be able to install the full Client or for users of web apps which can be handled by a web proxy. ## Installation and uninstallation ### How to install When the installer .exe is run (including from the command line) then the lite Client will either install (if never used before) or upgrade (if an older version is present) or launch (if the same version is present). It will always launch and the auto-start feature will always be enabled. If you try to install the lite Client on top of the full Client it won't install and will invite you to start the full Client. ### How to uninstall To uninstall the Windows lite Client simply right click on Appgate SDP Lite in the start menu and click uninstall or use Windows `Add or Remove Programs`. ## Log file locations ### Client logs The Client logs are in `%APPDATA%\AppGate\Logs`. For example: `c:\users\sally\AppData\AppGate\Logs` - lite.log includes the logs from the main service - ui-.log includes logs from the UI process At the end of everyday a log-date and a ui-date record is archived for 30 days. ![List of log files with details including date modified and file size.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/e7482ce5-acfa-4c3b-b76c-b6c32472644a/Images/Documentation/ag32-winlogs(1).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-27T20%3A29%3A47Z&se=2026-10-27T21%3A29%3A47Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=UCo8SYqPQWMN9lXaqPVKWpGLnEDyf53cEHto6RbhJ2E%3D) ### Log level To increase the log level in the Client, quit the Client and then run: `& ".\appgate sdp.exe" --loglevel <value> ` The options are: Dump, Trace, Debug, Info, Warn, Error, Fatal Info is the normal setting. Moving to the right will reduce the amount of log records saved - moving to the left is not recommended unless instructed to do so by AppGate support. To return to normal - quit the Client and then restart normally. ## Configuration settings ### To view Client settings The user.config file for the Client can be found in: `%appdata%\AppGate\AppGate_SDP_Service_Url_<some_random_text>\<version>\` ### To clean all Client settings Delete the file above. ### Download the PAC file It is sometimes useful to be able to download the PAC script file for troubleshooting purposes. To download the current PAC script generated and configured by the Lite Client, open the link shown below in a browser. This will download the most recent version of the configured PAC script file: [http://localhost:3198/sdp_proxy_pac_.pac](http://localhost:3198/sdp_proxy_pac_%3Crandom_number%3E.pac) Replace in the URL before opening it in a browser, for example: [http://localhost:3198/sdp_proxy_pac_1234567890.pac](http://localhost:3198/sdp_proxy_pac_1234567890.pac) ### Remove all stored passwords/cookies/certificates #### Certificates Run (Win+R) and perform a search for "certmgr.msc" – Delete certificates under ”AppGate” in the right hand pane of the below panel. > [!NOTE] > NOTE > > You will need admin rights to do this. ![Certificate management interface displaying AppGate certificates and their details.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/e7482ce5-acfa-4c3b-b76c-b6c32472644a/Images/Documentation/ag40-certmgr(1).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-27T20%3A29%3A47Z&se=2026-10-27T21%3A29%3A47Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=UCo8SYqPQWMN9lXaqPVKWpGLnEDyf53cEHto6RbhJ2E%3D) Make sure you are using Credential Manager as the correct user in order to make sure the correct Generic Credentials are visible.
