Profile configuration

To connect your AppGate ZTNA client to your network environment, you need to configure a profile. You will have been sent a profile link, which looks similar to ‘appgate://appgate.company.com/eyJzcGEiOnsibW9kZSI4……’. You will use this link to configure the profile.

To use the profile link you can either click the Scan QR Code button (mobile) and use the camera to scan a QR code, or click the Use Profile Link button and paste the profile link. Alternatively, you can just click the profile link and your client will create a new profile for you.

Signing in

Username and password

After adding the profile, some profiles will require you to enter your credentials (unless you have been advised otherwise by your administrator). Use the Username and Password fields to enter your domain sign-in credentials. If you select the Keep me signed in checkbox, your credentials will be remembered and reused automatically when the client starts.

When you have finished entering your credentials, click Connect.

Other authentication methods

Other profiles may collect your credentials elsewhere (the browser) or use a certificate, in which case the sign-in fields will not be shown. Instead, the Sign in with provider window provides a link to where you can enter your credentials to continue. Click Sign in to continue.

You may be asked to provide more details such as a pin when using certificates or smart cards.

When done, click Connect.

One-time password

At this point, depending on how your system was configured, you may need to enter one time password (OTP). This may be required either the first time your device connects or every time you connect.

If this window appears, use one of the following options:

  • Use an authenticator app on your mobile device and enter the six digit OTP shown into this window.

    NOTE

The OTP generated is valid for 90 seconds. If you type it incorrectly, or the code on your mobile expires, simply type in the next code that appears.

  • Use an alternative OTP solution such as a token, then generate or find the next OTP and enter it into this window.

When you have finished, click Connect.
