Installation

Administrative privileges are required for installing the AppGate ZTNA Client. If you do not already have AppGate ZTNA pre-installed on your work device, download it at the AppGate SDP Client Downloads page.

Select the download link for your operating system and follow the installation instructions provided below.

Client version compatibility

AppGate ZTNA Clients must be compatible with the version of the AppGate ZTNA server used by your organization. If you have any questions, contact your organization’s AppGate ZTNA administrator for the correct Client version to install.

This section will provide installation instructions for the following operating systems:

• Windows

• macOS

• Ubuntu

• Fedora

• Red Hat

Verifying package files

There is an archive with the checksums needed to verify the package files under each version at the AppGate Support page.

Windows

To install the Client on Windows:

1. Run “Appgate SDP [version] Installer.exe” and run the setup wizard.

2. After setup has completed, the program will automatically start and open the Privacy policy window. If the Client application doesn’t start automatically, launch the “AppGate ZTNA” application from your applications folder.

macOS

To install the Client on macOS:

1. Open “Appgate SDP [version] Installer.dmg”. The dmg file includes programs for installing and uninstalling the client.

2. Open “Appgate SDP Installer.pkg” to start the setup wizard.

3. When setup has completed, the Client application will automatically start and open the Privacy policy window. If the Client application doesn’t start automatically, launch the “Appgate SDP” app in your Applications folder.

Ubuntu

To install the Client on Ubuntu:

1. Open a terminal and navigate to the directory where the downloaded .deb file is located.

2. Install the package with: sudo apt install ./appgate-sdp_[version]_amd64.deb

3. When the installation is complete, search for “Appgate SDP” in the menu to execute the client.

Fedora/RHEL9/Rocky/AlmaLinux

To install the Client:

1. Open a terminal and navigate to the directory where the downloaded .rpm files are located.

2. Install the packages with: sudo dnf install epel-release and then sudo dnf install ./appgate-sdp-[version]-el8.x86_64.rpm

3. When the installation has completed, search for “Appgate SDP” in the menu to execute the client.

Updates

You will receive a notification when an update is available for your Client. To install the update, open the Client and click on the update request in your Notification Bell. After the update is complete you may have to sign back in to the Client if you haven’t selected the Keep me signed in checkbox.

To check which version of the Client software is currently running, click the three dots icon () and select About.
