Accessing Applications

AppGate ZTNA helps your security team explain how application access policies work. For example, if you are working from home, the client can display a message explaining why a particular application is currently unavailable or what you need to do to access it. Notifications can appear as a Notification Bell icon in the client or as native OS notifications, and the client presents them in one of two ways:

  • A message when you access an application directly.

  • A message related to the App Shortcut you just used.

When a User Interaction window appears, you may see the Choose alternative action option. Select this option if you cannot perform the preferred user interaction—for example, if you do not have your FIDO key available but can receive an OTP by SMS.

User interactions require one of the following extra actions:

  • Enter password

  • Enter reason

  • Enter MFA (such as OTP or FIDO)

Other Notifications

In addition to messages and user interactions, you may receive the following notification types:

  • Message of the day. May appear when you sign in. See Message of the day for more information.

  • Client Update. Appears when an update is pending. See Updates for more information.
